De Mazenod
The Annual Pilgrimage to Thewatte Basilica at Ragama is the first event in the De Mazenod College School Calendar. All the staff members and students from grade 1 to 13 walk in faith to the main entrance of Basilica Church. After celebrating the Holy Mass, the prayer consecrating the school to Mother Mary is recited. At the end, Principal delivers the vote of thanks to all the participants and all those who worked to make this event a great success.
We entered the sacred Advent Season and placed the Baby Jesus in the Crib on Monday the 2nd December 2024. A short prayer service was conducted by the Religious Committee. Rev. Bro. Janaka Fonseka, the Principal placed the Infant Jesus in the Crib. College Chaplain Rev. Fr. Chrishantha Thilakaratne blessed the gathering with Holy Water.
