College in Brief

logo

Five distinct elements make up the crest.

  1. The Christian element is depicted.
    • The Cross at the Centre.
    • The shield on the top half of the crest signifies the shield of faith.
  2. The Lasallian element is shown by the star, which is the emblem of the Institute of the Brothers of Christian Schools, who manage the college.
  3. The element of national culture and our link to the local environment in which the college is situated is depicted by the pineapple fruit with its leaves. At the time of the founding of De Mazenod College, the surrounding areas were covered with pineapple and other cultivations. This tells the students to associate themselves with the indigenous culture and respect one's environment.
  4. The college Motto, which is at the bottom "Animo Et Fide" translated into English, "Courage and Faith" depicts the vision of the college for her students.
    • Courage: To face life's battle undaunted.
    • Faith : To view life at its highest, the creator design.
  5. The element of academic excellence is depicted by the book at the bottom.
  6. The MAZENODIAN CREST, which came into being in 1933, with the arrival of De La Salle Brothers to manage the school is an inspiring, artistic, instructive crest, which has stood the test of time.

In fit colours of Blue, White and Gold, it is a joy to behold and a pride to be worn by young and old Mazenodians.
